In the midst of the best season in program history, West Virginia head coach Steve Sabins has been named the 2026 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Mike Martin National Coach of the Year.

Texas freshman relief pitcher Sam Cozart has been named the 2026 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Stopper of the Year, recognizing the nation's top relief pitcher, the organization announced Friday.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has announced Louisiana senior infielder Lee Amedee as the second annual winner of the Tony Gwynn Community Service Trophy, in a vote of NCBWA board members, collegiate baseball coaches and media members. 

Georgia catcher Daniel Jackson, the consensus 2026 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and 2026 NCAA World Series participant, is the 39th recipient of the Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear.

The 2026 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s 26th Division I All-America first, second and third teams are filled with collegiate standouts who have left their mark on the diamond and could be celebrating into the NCAA Championship dogpile on June 21 or 22 in Omaha.

Led by the five finalists for the 2026 Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear – UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky, Louisville first baseman Tague Davis, UC Santa Barbara pitcher Jackson Flora, Arizona State outfielder Landon Hairston and Georgia catcher Daniel Jackson – the team celebrating college baseball’s top performers is star-studded.

Stanford outfielder Teddy Tokheim and Texas right-hander Sam Cozart have been named the 2026 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) National Freshman Hitter and Pitcher of the Year recipients, as announced by the organization today.

A total of thirty-four standout freshmen college baseball players from every part of the country are featured on the 2026 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-America Team, the organization announced today. 

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its 28th District Players of the Year selections for all nine U.S. districts for the 2026 season. The 2026 standouts include.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named its Dick Howser Trophy Players of the Month for May presented by The Game Headwear, honoring Kansas junior shortstop Tyson LeBlanc as the National Hitter of the Month and Washington State’s redshirt sophomore left-handed pitcher Nick Lewis as the National Pitcher of the Month.

Fourteen finalists for the 21st annual NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, presented to the nation's top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball, have been announced.

The Georgia Bulldogs (49-12) have taken over as No. 1 – just the third team this season besides preseason top choice LSU and the Bruins – as NCAA Super Regionals beckon this weekend. NCAA Chapel Hill Regional victor North Carolina is No. 2 while fellow regional winners No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Auburn, and No. 5 West Virginia round out the Top Five.

Georgia Tech junior catcher Vahn Lackey and Miami (Ohio) redshirt junior outfielder Tommy Harrison were named National Co-Hitters of the Week, while Georgia Tech junior right-handed pitcher Tate McKee and Hawaii junior right-handed pitcher Isaiah Magdaleno were named Co-National Pitchers of the Week.

The UCLA Bruins (28-2 in Big Ten Conference play for the most wins among DI squads in league activity) remains atop the poll for the 13th consecutive week. Georgia Tech jumped North Carolina for the No. 2 position, as three Atlantic Coast Conference members remain among the Top 10. Georgia is No. 4 for the second week in succession, while fellow Southeastern Conference squad Texas is No. 5.

The Dick Howser Trophy Committee, in conjunction with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, has denoted the 48 semifinalists for the 2026 Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear. This prestigious award in college baseball has been given to the top player based on two rounds of national voting by NCBWA members since 1987.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending May 10. Merrimack senior first baseman Greg Cristino and UIC junior utility player Ashton Kampa were named National Co-Hitters of the Week, while Gonzaga sophomore left-handed pitcher Karsten Sweum and Arkansas State redshirt junior right-handed pitcher Ckyler Tengler were named Co-National Pitchers of the Week.

The UCLA Bruins (now 26-1 in conference play) had their Big Ten Conference-record of 25 consecutive league victories ended by No. 15 Oregon last Saturday but remain atop the poll for the 11th consecutive week.

A nine-member finalist group has been announced for the second annual Tony Gwynn Community Service Trophy, honoring NCAA baseball student-athletes who exemplify the Gwynn legacy. The Gwynn Trophy winner will be selected from these finalists, in a vote by NCBWA board members, select college baseball coaches and national media members.

Baylor redshirt senior first baseman Tyce Armstrong and USC Upstate fifth-year infielder Johnny Sweeney were named National Co-Hitters of the Week, while Hawaii junior right-handed pitcher Isaiah Magdeleno was named National Pitcher of the Week.

The UCLA Bruins continue their dominance of the poll for the 11th consecutive week after advancing to a conference-record 24-0 start in the Big Ten and capturing 15 straight road victories. North Carolina is No. 2 for the third week in a row, while Nos. 3-5 Georgia Tech, Texas and Georgia hold down the next three top five positions.
