NCBWA 2026 Season News

The UCLA Bruins (9-2) have replaced three-time No. 1 LSU in the top spot for after sweeping Tennessee, Texas A&M and Mississippi State to win the Amegy Bank College Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. LSU dropped to No. 2 ahead of Texas at No. 3, Georgia Tech at No. 4 and Mississippi State at No. 5.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending Feb. 22. UCLA junior outfielder Will Gasparino was named National Hitter of the Week, while Arkansas junior left-handed pitcher Colin Fisher and Oregon State sophomore right-handed pitcher Dax Whitney were named National Co-Pitchers of the Week.

Johnson County, Jones College and Dallas College Eastfield are ranked No. 1 in their respective NCBWA Junior College Baseball poll entering the fifth week of the season.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending February 15, 2026. Angelo State senior second baseman Austin Beck is the National Hitter of the Week and Emporia State sophomore hurler Colby Deaver is the National Pitcher of the Week.
