DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 29th year with its 2026 weekly surveys.
In one of the most stunning upsets in NCAA Regional history, UCLA (52-8 overall and both Big Ten Conference regular- and postseason champion) fell twice in the Los Angeles Regional to St. Mary’s and dropped out of first place for the first time in the last 14 polls.
The Georgia Bulldogs (49-12) have taken over as No. 1 – just the third team this season besides preseason top choice LSU and the Bruins – as NCAA Super Regionals beckon this weekend. NCAA Chapel Hill Regional victor North Carolina is No. 2 while fellow regional winners No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Auburn, and No. 5 West Virginia round out the Top Five.
The eight nationally ranked hosting NCAA Super Regionals later this week to determine the eight entries for the 2026 NCAA Division I Baseball World Series are Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, Auburn, West Virginia, Kansas, Troy, and Alabama. No. 7 Mississippi State will travel to No. 1 Georgia for the Supers while No. 3 Texas hosts NCAA Eugene Regional winner and current No. 6 Oregon.

Previous Top 25 vote recipients Oklahoma, Troy, Cal Poly, Little Rock, Saint John’s, and Kentucky all returned to the June 2 survey.
The Southeastern Conference (11 schools) leads all circuits among the survey for the 17th week in a row while the Big Ten and ACC sports three entries apiece. There have been 10 conferences (season-high eight this week plus independent Oregon State) represented in the first 17 standings of 2026, and there were 10 different conferences in the 2025 NCBWA polls.
