Todd Helton, the 1995 Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear recipient, has another feather in his already-extensive baseball cap. Helton was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame last week in Cooperstown, New York, as the first Howser Trophy winner and first Tennessee alumnus to be recognized with this high baseball honor.

Georgia Tech outfielder Drew Burress and Clemson right-hander Aidan Knaak have been named the 2024 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association National Freshman Hitter and Pitcher of the Year recipients, as announced by the organization today.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named its Dick Howser Trophy Players of the Month for May, presented by The Game Headwear, tabbing South Carolina catcher Cole Messina its hitter of the month and Oregon State’s Aiden May its national pitcher of the month.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its 26th Annual District Players of the Year for all nine districts for the 2024 season.

Finalists for the 19th rendition of the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball, have been named. 

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending May 19. Arizona State’s junior infielder Jacob Tobias was named National Hitter of the Week, while Arkansas junior left-hander Hagen Smith and Wake Forest junior right-handed pitcher Chase Burns were named National Co-Pitchers of the Week.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending May 12. The College of Charleston’s graduate student designated hitter Cole Singsank was named National Hitter of the Week, while Wake Forest’s junior right-handed pitcher Chase Burns was named National Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending on May 5, 2024.  Salem junior outfielder/first base Mackenzie Wainwright, is the National Hitter of the Week and Wayne State (Mich.) senior hurler Karter Fitzpatrick is the National Pitcher of the Week. 

A .611 week with 14 runs scored and 14 RBI, a four-hit complete game against a top-five team, and two dominant relief appearances captured the final National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III honors for 2024. This week’s selections were based on games played April 29 through May 5.

Oklahoma State sophomore outfielder/first baseman Nolan Schubart and Arizona State redshirt sophomore outfielder Nick McLain were named National Co-Hitters of the Week, while Nebraska junior left-handed pitcher Jackson Brockett was named National Pitcher of the Week. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending on April 28, 2024. Oklahoma Baptist senior infielder Troy Shields, is the National Hitter of the Week and Shepherd junior John Dhima is the National Pitcher of the Week.

III baseball powerhouse, and five innings of no-hit relief were what it took to earn the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Div. III weekly awards. This week’s selections were based on games played April 22-28.

Oklahoma State sophomore outfielder/RHP Carson Benge and Charleston junior first baseman Cole Mathis were named National Co-Hitters of the Week, while Oregon State junior right-handed pitcher Aiden May was named National Pitcher of the Week.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending on April 21, 2024. William Jewell senior shortstop Alex Epp is the National Hitter of the Week and Pitt-Johnstown junior Rodney Schultz is the National Pitcher of the Week.

A nine-inning no-hitter in New England earned the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Div. III Pitcher of the Week award for games played April 15-21, while an 18 RBI week and a complete-game, two-hit shutout earned the Hitter and Rookie of the Week awards, respectively.

FIU senior outfielder Armando Becerra and Oregon junior first baseman/outfielder Jacob Walsh were named National Co-Hitters of the Week, while LSU redshirt sophomore left-handed pitcher Gage Jump was named National Pitcher of the Week.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending on April 14, 2024.  William Jewell junior outfielder Evan Jilbert, is the National Hitter of the Week and Harding senior righty Maddox Long is the National Pitcher of the Week.

Home runs and going the extra mile for a team on the mound caught the attention of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Div. III Weekly Awards Committee, which announced its honors for games played April 8-14 on Wednesday. Please note there is a second honorable mention Pitcher of the Week due to a voting tie and both honorable mention selections having the same number of first-, second-, and third-place votes.
