Seven repeat honorees highlight 2023 FWAA All-America Team presented by the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic

The 2023 Football Writers Association of America All-America Team, presented in partnership with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, is highlighted by seven repeat All-Americans and a record 10 players from the four teams competing in the College Football Playoff at the front of players from 36 different schools. There are 22 schools represented from eight Football Bowl Subdivision conferences on the first team and all 10 conferences plus an Independent are included on the overall 54-man team.

Three finalists named for 2023 Outland Trophy

Three finalists for the 2023 Outland Trophy – offensive tackle Joe Alt of Notre Dame, Kansas State guard Cooper Beebe and Texas defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat – were announced Tuesday by the Football Writers Association of America.

Seven semifinalists named for 2023 Outland Trophy

Seven semifinalists for the 2023 Outland Trophy – five offensive linemen and two defensive tackles – were announced Wednesday by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee. The semifinalists are each from different schools within three conferences and Notre Dame and represent all four positions eligible for the award.

Kansas State's Beebe is Outland Trophy National Player of the Week

Guard Cooper Beebe has been a versatile and powerful presence along the Kansas State offensive line. The senior All-American led the Wildcats to an offensive showcase with 587 total yards – a program record for a conference game – in a 41-3 home win over TCU. For his efforts in the eye-catching win, Beebe earned the Outland Trophy National Player of the Week honor for games during the weekend of Oct. 21, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.

FWAA recognizes Super 11 from 2022 season

Two first-time winners and nine previous ones comprise the 14th Super 11 Awards, which the Football Writers Association of America give out annually to the best performing College Sports Communicators departments in the Football Bowl Subdivision. The awards announced this week are for the 2022 season.

The 2022 Football Writers Association of America All-America Team, presented in partnership with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, is headlined by nine first-teamers from the four teams competing in the College Football Playoff, three repeat All-Americans and a record 16 total selections from the Big Ten Conference. There are 19 schools represented from six Football Bowl Subdivision conferences on the first team and 34 different schools and eight conferences plus an Independent included on the overall 54-man team.

Louisville is Cheez-It Bowl National Team of the Week

DALLAS (FWAA) – The Louisville Cardinals won their third straight game behind a feisty defense that forced eight Wake Forest turnovers in a 48-21 win over the No. 10 Demon Deacons. For posting a 35-point third quarter and pinning down its first win over a top-10 team as an unranked team since 2002, Louisville (5-3) earned the Cheez-It Bowl National Team of the Week honor for games of the weekend of Oct. 29, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.

Kansas State is Cheez-It Bowl National Team of the Week

The Kansas State Wildcats never trailed and scored their highest point total ever in Norman as they upended No. 6 Oklahoma, 41-34, on the road in both teams’ Big 12 opener. For rolling up 509 total yards and beating the Sooners for the third time in four seasons and second consecutive time in Norman, Kansas State (3-1) earned the Cheez-It Bowl National Team of the Week honor for games of the weekend of Sept. 24, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.

FWAA unveils 2021 Super 11 Award winners

Three first-time winners and eight previous ones comprise the 13th Super 11 Awards, which the Football Writers Association of America gives out annually to the best performing sports information departments in the Football Bowl Subdivision. The awards announced this week are for the 2021 season. In addition, the FWAA presented a Super 11 Coach of the Year Award to Boston College Coach Jeff Hafley who granted outstanding access to his program during the 2021 season. He is the fourth head coach to win this award, which began with the 2018 season.
