NCBWA NAMES DIVISION II
NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its weekly NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the period ending April 1st. Central Oklahoma senior second baseman Tucker Brown is the National Hitter of the Week while Millersville senior lefthander Mark Royer is the National Pitcher of the Week.

Tucker Brown (Shawnee, Okla.) hit .522 in leading UCO to a 6-0 record last week. He hit six home runs – including a school-record four in one game – while adding three doubles and driving in 16 runs. Brown had 12 hits in 23 at bats, scored 12 runs and had a 1.435 slugging percentage, along with a .586 on-base percentage and one stolen base. He committed one error in 30 fielding chances. Brown, who entered the week with three homers on the season, had a homer and five RBI in UCO's 13-10 road win over St. Gregory's. He homered his first four times at the plate the next day - giving him a homer in five straight at bats - and had seven RBI in a 25-7 win over Arlington Baptist in the first game of a doubleheader. His three-run homer on Sunday put the Bronchos ahead to stay in a 7-2 win over Lindenwood.

Mark Royer (Akron, Pa.) made his one start on the week a special one. He threw Millersville's first no-hitter since 2007 on Tuesday in game two against Lincoln. Royer was two Millersville fielding errors and a hit batsman away from a perfect game. He struck out eight and did not walk a single batter in the stellar performance.
