DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 29th year with its 2026 weekly surveys.
The UCLA Bruins (21-2) remain No. 1 for the fourth week in succession after a 4-0 week to continue to lead the Big Ten Conference at 9-0 and now with 15 consecutive victories. Texas stays at No. 2 ahead of Nos. 3-5 Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Auburn.
Some of the top movers from the Week Six to Week Seven polls are USC (with a Division I-high 24 wins) from No. 17 to 12, Big 12 Conference leader West Virginia from No. 21 to 15, Oregon from No. 22 to 17 and four teams receiving votes during Week Six – Ole Miss, Arizona State, Tennessee and Alabama – into the new Top 25-survey
Southeastern Conference (season-most-tying 11 schools) and Atlantic Coast Conference (six) teams currently occupy 17 of the Top 25 slots with the Big Ten Conference nailing down three places.
There have been six conferences (five this week plus independent Oregon State) represented in the first seven standings of 2026, and there were 10 different conferences in the 2025 NCBWA polls.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
