UCLA (9-2) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 29th year with its 2026 weekly surveys.

The UCLA Bruins (9-2) have replaced three-time No. 1 LSU in the top spot for after sweeping Tennessee, Texas A&M and Mississippi State to win the Amegy Bank College Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. LSU dropped to No. 2 ahead of Texas at No. 3, Georgia Tech at No. 4 and Mississippi State at No. 5.

Some of the top movers from the preseason to Week Four polls are Southern Miss from No. 14 to 11, Wake Forest from No. 22 to 17, TCU from No. 23 to 20 and Oregon from receiving votes to No. 24.

Southeastern Conference (10) and Atlantic Coast Conference (eight) members currently occupy 18 of the top 25 slots with Big Ten Conference power Oregon entering the poll this week for the first time in ’26 at No. 24.

There have been six conferences (five this week plus independent Oregon State) represented in the first four standings of 2026, and there were 10 different conferences in the 2025 NCBWA polls.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport.
