DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 29th year with its 2026 weekly surveys.
 
The LSU Tigers (8-0) are in the top spot for the third consecutive week as the defending NCAA champs downed Indiana, Notre Dame and UCF in the Jacksonville (Fla.) Baseball Classic, while UCLA climbed to No. 2 after sweeping then-No. 10 TCU in Los Angeles. Texas, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State round out the top five.
 
Some of the top movers from the preseason to Week Two polls are Georgia from No. 14 to 9, Florida from No. 16 to 11, Clemson from No. 15 to 12, Oklahoma from No. 19 to 13, Southern Miss from No. 22 to 14, Miami (Fla.) from 20 to 16 after becoming the first team to reach 9-0 in ’26, Texas A&M from No. 25 to 18, Wake Forest at No. 22 after receiving votes and Ole Miss at 8-0 and in the poll for the first time this season at No. 25.
 
Southeastern Conference (11) and Atlantic Coast Conference (eight) members currently occupy 19 of the top 25 slots. There have been six conferences (five this week plus independent Oregon State) represented in the first three standings of 2026, and there were 10 different conferences in the 2025 NCBWA polls.
 
The 2026 poll voters come from among 33 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. The ’26 season features 308 NCAA Division I baseball-playing schools, and for more information or to join the NCBWA, please go to ncbwa.com.
