DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 27th year with its 2024 weekly surveys.
Arkansas (no solar eclipse here) is No. 1 for the fourth consecutive week while Clemson and Texas A&M remain at Nos. 2 and 3 positions for the second poll in succession as well as the Nos. 4-6 slots (Tennessee, Oregon State, Vanderbilt).
Some of the big movers from week seven to week eight were Kentucky from No. 15 to 8, East Carolina from No. 13 to 10, UC Irvine from No. 17 to 14, Wake Forest from No. 21 to 15, UCF from receiving votes to No. 16, Coastal Carolina from No. 22 to 17, Nebraska from No. 23 to 20 and Louisiana, Oregon and Mississippi State from receiving votes to placements Nos. 19-23, among others.
There have been 12 conferences (nine this week) represented in the first seven standings of 2024, and there were 15 different conferences in the 2023 NCBWA polls.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
