DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named its Dick Howser Trophy Players of the Month for February, presented by The Game Headwear, tabbing Georgia third baseman/outfielder Charlie Condon as its National Hitter of the Month and LSU right-hander Luke Holman as National Pitcher of the Month.

Condon, a native of Marietta, Georgia, had a prolific nine-game stretch to open the 2024 season. He hit .639 (23-for-36) with seven homers and 13 RBI. Condon scored 17 runs, had five doubles and a triple and drew eight walks for a .696 on-base percentage. He led the Southeastern Conference in homers, runs and total bases in the month and had seven more hits than the next closest player. He cranked a school-record three homers vs. Michigan State to close the month, which followed an SEC Player of the Week nod in week two. He belted an eighth homer last weekend, in a two-game sweep over Georgia Tech, and is hitting .568 through the first 11 games of the year. Last season, Condon, hit .386 (81-for-210) with 10 doubles, one triple, 25 homers and 67 RBI.

A native of Sinking Springs, Pennsylvania, Holman went 2-0 in his two starts for the Tigers, working 12.1 innings, allowing five hits without surrendering a run, walking just one and fanning 18. He dominated Northern Illinois through seven innings, allowing just two hits over 77 pitches. In his start vs. Central Arkansas, he worked 5.1 shutout innings with 10 strikeouts. Holman improved to 3-0 in his first start in March, cruising through 5.2 shutout innings at Texas, allowing just three hits and one walk, striking out 12. Holman joined the Tigers after serving as the ace for Alabama in 2023, going 7-4 with a 3.67 ERA in 81 innings with 87 strikeouts and a .186 opponent average.
