DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 27th year with its 2024 weekly surveys. Wake Forest (3-0) holds the top spot for the second straight week in succession, while LSU remains second amng the Top 25 rated teams.
The Demon Deacons swept through the Wake Forest Invitational to remain unbeaten while defending NCAA champ LSU won the first three games of the LSU Invitational to open at 3-0. All records listed in this week’s survey are through Feb. 18 encounters.
Some of the big movers from preseason to Week One were TCU from No. 6 to 3, Clemson from No. 12 to 8, No. 23 Alabama to No. 18, No. 22 UCLA to 19 and No. 25 Auburn to No. 22 among others.
There have been 10 conferences (seven this week) represented in the first two standings of 2024, and there were 15 different conferences in the 2023 NCBWA polls.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
