WINGATE, N.C. (NCBWA) – The 2024 and 2025 national champion University of Tampa Spartans are the top-ranked team in the NCBWA preseason Division II baseball top 25 poll, which was released Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans went 55-10 in 2025, after posting a 52-8 record in 2024. Tampa received all 20 first-place votes in the preseason national poll.
Central Missouri checks in at number two in the preseason poll. The Mules finished as the national runner-up in 2025, while also making the title game in 2021. UT Tyler is third in the preseason poll after a trip to Cary in 2025. Northwest Nazarene also appeared in the D2 World Series in 2025, checking in at #4 in the preseason poll. Catawba rounds out the top five.
Lenoir-Rhyne checks in at #6 in the preseason poll after picking up a pair of wins in Cary last season. East Stroudsburg and Northwood are seventh and eighth after appearing in the World Series last season. Colorado Mesa and Florida Southern round out the top 10. Felician is ranked 18th in the preseason poll after making a trip to Cary in 2025.
The NCBWA Region polls will be announced every Monday throughout the season, while national polls will come out every Wednesday.

Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting.
