DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 25th year with its 2023 weekly surveys.
Preseason No. 1 LSU remains on a roll and is atop the poll for the 12th consecutive time in ‘23. The Tigers are bidding to become the first team in the 25-year history of the survey to run the table at No. 1.
Some of the big movers from Weeks 11 to 12 of the regular-season surveys are Vanderbilt from No. 8 to 5, Connecticut from No. 14 to 9, DBU from No.17 to 12, Duke from No. 23 to 14, West Virginia from No. 21 to 15, Miami (Fla.) from No. 20 to 17, Oregon from No. 22 to 19, Oregon State from No. 27 to 20, and poll newcomers this week Maryland from receiving votes to No. 28, Cal State Fullerton from receiving votes to No. 29, Northeastern (first time to appear in a NCBWA poll) from receiving votes to No. 30, among others.
There have been 14 conferences (12 this week) represented in the first 12 standings of 2023, and there were 14 different conferences in the 2022 NCBWA polls.
