Sat., June 16: Florida's Michael Byrne was named the 2018 Stopper of the Year on Saturday at TD Ameritrade Park, becoming the first Gator to capture the award since its inception in 2005. Byrne, a 14th-round selection by the Reds in the 2018 draft, enters play in Omaha sporting a 3-1 record with a 1.59 ERA.

Sat., June 16: Pitcher Brady Singer is the 32nd recipient of the Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear, as college baseball's National Player of the Year. Singer joins Seattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino (2012) as Florida standouts to capture the Howser Trophy. Singer, a 6-5, 220-pound right-hander from Eustis, Fla., was the 2018 SEC Pitcher of the Year and consensus first-team All-American. He was 18th player chosen in the MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals, the organization Dick Howser managed to the 1985 World Series crown.
