Mon., May 14: For the 15th consecutive year, the NCBWA Top 30 poll, representing 291 Division I baseball-playing schools, is chosen by 42 national selectors. The South Carolina Gamecocks (38-13), the two-time defending NCAA champions, hold the No. 1 position for the first time in 2012. The SEC and Pac-12 each have six teams in the rankings this week.

Tues., May 15: The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending May 13. FIU senior outfielder Pablo Bermudez was named National Hitter of the Week, while Texas A&M senior right-hander Ross Stripling was named National Pitcher of the Week.
