Seven repeat honorees highlight 2023 FWAA All-America Team presented by the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic

The 2023 Football Writers Association of America All-America Team, presented in partnership with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, is highlighted by seven repeat All-Americans and a record 10 players from the four teams competing in the College Football Playoff at the front of players from 36 different schools. There are 22 schools represented from eight Football Bowl Subdivision conferences on the first team and all 10 conferences plus an Independent are included on the overall 54-man team.

Ohio State is Cheez-It National Team of the Week

It doesn’t get much closer, and it doesn’t get much better than the Ohio State Buckeyes' 17-14 win at Notre Dame on Saturday. The No. 6 Buckeyes scored on their final play from a yard out, esssentially walking off past the No. 9 Fighting Irish in a memorable rally in primetime. For completing what was a 15-play, 65-yard drive to rally late and win, the Buckeyes (4-0) are the Cheez-It National Team of the Week, as selected by the All-America Committee of the Football Writers Association of America.

FWAA, Goodyear Cotton Bowl unveil 2022 All-America Team

The 2022 Football Writers Association of America All-America Team, presented in partnership with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, is headlined by nine first-teamers from the four teams competing in the College Football Playoff, three repeat All-Americans and a record 16 total selections from the Big Ten Conference. There are 19 schools represented from six Football Bowl Subdivision conferences on the first team and 34 different schools and eight conferences plus an Independent included on the overall 54-man team.

Seven semifinalists named for 2022 Outland Trophy

Seven semifinalists for the 77th Outland Trophy – five offensive linemen and two defensive tackles – were announced Wednesday by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee. The seven come from different schools within four separate conferences – the Big Ten has four of the seven – and represent all four positions eligible for the award.

Ohio State's Babb nominated for Orange Bowl Courage Award

Ohio State’s Kamryn Babb is this week’s nominee for the 2022 Capital One Orange Bowl-FWAA Courage Award. Babb, a fifth-year graduate student, played for the first time since the 2020 season Saturday vs. Indiana, caught his first collegiate pass and scored his first career touchdown after undergoing four different knee surgeries.

Paris Johnson Jr. Foundation selected as 2022 Merit Award recipient

The Paris Johnson Jr. Foundation has been selected as the 11th recipient of the Armed Forces Merit Award presented by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).

Ohio State's Tuimoloau is Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week

DALLAS (FWAA) – Ohio State defensive end JT Tuimoloau notched one of the most dominant games for a defensive lineman in recent seasons Saturday in Ohio State’s 44-31 win at Penn State. Tuimoloau had six tackles, three for loss, two sacks, two interceptions and a pass breakup, forced a fumble and recovered another one as the Buckeyes rallied to stay perfect in Big Ten play. For forcing or gaining four takeaways that led to 21 Ohio State points, Tuimoloau earned the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week honor for games during the weekend of Oct. 29, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.

Ohio State's Eichenberg is Bronko Nagurski National Player of the Week

Leading the way with nine tackles, Tommy Eichenberg and the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes shut down No. 5 Notre Dame in the last three quarters of a 21-10 win to take the highlight game of college football’s first full weekend. For posting his team-high tackles – six of them solo and three of them for losses to go with a pair of sacks – Eichenberg earned the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week honor for games in the extended weekend of Sept. 3, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.
