The Selection Committee for the College Football Playoff
released its third set of rankings Tuesday night.
While there were no major changes from the week before,
these rankings do set up what promises to be a lot of
fireworks in the final two weeks of the 2025 regular
season.
So what do we know as we enter the 13th week of the
college football season?
--If the selection committee had picked the field on
Tuesday night, the SEC would have five of the Top 10
teams in the playoff. No. 4 Georgia all but locked up a spot
with an impressive 35-10 win over Texas in Athens. The
other SEC teams to make the field would be undefeated
Texas A&M, who rallied from a 30-3 deficit to beat South
Carolina 31-30, No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 8 Oklahoma and No.
10 Alabama.
--Texas fell all the way to No. 17 after losing to Georgia
but still has two games with Arkansas and Texas A&M. At
7-3 the Longhorns would appear to be done.
--No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana remained in place.
Indiana does not play on Saturday and finishes at Purdue
on Nov. 29. Ohio State should cruise by Rutgers on
Saturday, which would set up a monster game with
Michigan on Nov. 29 at The Big House. Michigan has won
four straight over the Buckeyes.
--No. 5 Texas Tech would be in the field as the Big 12
champ, but that would be it for that conference,
--The ACC has as many as six teams that could qualify for
the conference championship game. Miami (8-2) is the
highest rated team at No. 13 but 9-1 Georgia Tech is No.
16.
Here is the remaining schedule for the top 12 teams in the
