DALLAS (FWAA) – Memphis is the winner of the Cheez-It Crunch Time Play of the Week for Week 4 after safety Chris Bracy's fourth-quarter strip and recovery sealed an 18-point comeback win over Arkansas, as selected by the All-America Commitee of the Football Writers Association of America.
The Tigers piled up 489 total yards, leaned on a bend-but-don’t-break defense, and forced three turnovers while committing only two. The win extended Memphis’s FBS-best win streak to eight games.
Earlier in the fourth quarter, running back Sutton Smith exploded for a 64-yard touchdown run with 4:51 left, giving Memphis a 32-31 edge.
Arkansas then methodically drove 75 yards and was poised to kick a short go-ahead field goal before the turnover. On 2nd-and-2 at the Memphis 9, Bracy punched the ball loose from Mike Washington Jr. and fell on it with 1:22 on the clock.
Bracy was named the American Conference Defensive Player of the Week earlier today and the Tigers have now won four straight games at home vs. SEC foes, dating to the 2015 season.
The 2025 season marks the first year the FWAA has presented the award under its new name, the Cheez-It Crunch Time Play of the Week, spotlighting the single most decisive play from the weekend’s games. Each winning team receives a custom Cheez-It care package delivered to its campus.
