IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE MARRIOTT ATHLETIC VIP DISCOUNT PROGRAM: Effective Sept. 1, 2010,  Marriott will no longer offer the Athletic VIP Card benefit to the FWAA membership, as the program was originally designed for travel decision-makers with college and professional teams. Knowing that many of your are loyal Marriott Rewards customers, the FWAA and Marriott are in negotiations to include the membership in another similar discount program with Marriott that more closely fits the profile of the FWAA member. If you currently have a VIP card, it will be honored until its expiration date. If you do not have a card or your card has expired, know that soon we hope to be announcing our inclusion in a different Marriott discount plan. If you have specific questions about Marriott discount programs, please direct them to George Schroeder at gschroeder@aol.com.

Founded in 1941, the Football Writers Association of America consists of the men and women across North America who cover college football for a living.

The membership includes journalists, broadcasters and publicists, as well as key executives in all the areas that involve the game. The FWAA works to govern areas that include game day operations, major awards and an All-America team.
