COLORADO MESA TOPS NCBWA DIVISION II POLL

PEMBROKE, N.C. (NCBWA) Another perfect week on the baseball diamond that helped it run its win streak out to an eye-popping 18 games was enough to sway every voter this week, as Colorado Mesa raked in all 19 first-place votes to further cement its position atop the NCBWA Division II Top 25.

The Mavericks are the first unanimous No. 1 team in the ranking since Tampa collected all 20 first-place votes in the NCBWA Division II Top 25 after capturing the 2019 national championship. Colorado Mesa leads the nation with a .399 team batting average 24 points higher than any other team in NCAA Division II · and have also tacked up an NCAA Division II-best 14.2 runs an outing as well.

West Florida was the biggest mover in the poll this week as the Argonauts jumped 12 spots into the No. 5 position following a weekend sweep of then-No. 2 Lee on Friday and Saturday in Pensacola, Fla. North Greenville (No. T7) improved their positioning in the national ranking by eight spots after scoring 14.0 runs per game in five games at the Conference Carolinas Tournament.

Quincy (No. 23) and Shorter (No. 24) re-entered this weeks poll after short absences. Wingate (No. 25) is back in the NCBWA Division II Top 25 for the first time since April 4, 2018 (Week 7). The Bulldogs are still celebrating their run to the South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship that concluded on April 26.
