COLORADO MESA TOPS NCBWA DIVISION II POLL

PEMBROKE, N.C. (NCBWA) A road doubleheader sweep of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foe Regis on Sunday helped Colorado Mesa push its win streak out to a dozen games, and the Mavericks raked in all but one first-place vote this week to retain its spot atop the NCBWA Division II Top 25. Southern New Hampshire, which sports a 12-game win streak itself, nabbed the remaining first-place vote in Wednesday·s poll.


The Mavericks sport the nations top batting average (.408) and have scored an NCAA-best 14.7 runs per game through 26 outings as well. Sophomore catcher Haydn McGeary ranks third among NCAA Division II with a .510 (51-for-100) batting average, while also ranking second in the nation with 53 RBI. The Mavericks have dropped just two games this season · a season-opening loss to Northwest Nazarene, as well as a one-run setback in the finale of a four-game road set with RMAC foe Colorado-Colorado Springs on March 21.


Two teams MSU Denver (No. 22) and Tusculum (No. 25) · re-entered this week·s poll after one-week absences. Quincy (No. 23) made its season debut in the NCBWA Division II Top 25, and is among the nation·s top 25 teams for the first time since April 23, 2019 (Week 10).

Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting.
