KERR, WHITE ARE DIVISION IINATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

ST. LOUIS (USBWA) Garret Kerr of the University of the Sciences (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Chontiquah White of West Texas A&M University (Canyon, Texas) were named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division II National Players of the Week for the week ending Feb. 15.

On the week, Kerr averaged 31.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 3.0 steals as University of the Sciences picked up two victories to reach 20 wins on the season and improve to 14-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.

Kerr scored 33 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the field in the 88-59 win over Wilmington on Feb. 10. He hit four-of-five three-pointers and was a perfect seven-for-seven at the free throw line as he added 11 rebounds and four assists. Four days later, he was 11-for-18 from the field, including a perfect three-for-three on three-pointers, in a 30-point, 11-rebound performance in a 69-53 win over Dominican (N.Y.). Kerr added five steals and four assists in the victory.

White, a 5-11 senior forward/center from Dallas, Texas, was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 points and 14 rebounds in recording her eighth and ninth double-doubles of the season to help the Lady Buffs to a pair of key conference wins.

White helped West Texas A&M extend its winning streak to 11 games by going 6-of-11 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line, while pulling down 13 rebounds in a 59-55 win over Midwestern State last Wednesday. She then tallied 25 points and 15 rebounds, including six on the offensive end, in the Lady Buff 81-67 win at Cameron.

White eclipsed the 1,500-point mark as she has 1,535 career points which is seventh in school history. She also has 846 career rebounds which is third-most in program history.

West Texas A&M is 20-2 overall, including 11-1 in the LSC.
