Tampa (34-4) tops NCBWA Division II Poll

WINGATE, N.C. (NCBWA) – For the 10th straight week, the University of Tampa Spartans are the top-ranked team in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) top 25 poll. Tampa received all 20 first-place votes, making this the eighth time UT has been the unanimous number one team this season. The Spartans are 34-4 on the season and have been the top-ranked team in every in-season NCBWA poll this year, after checking in at #3 in the preseason poll.

The top nine teams are the same, with those teams making slight moves. Point Loma moved up from fifth to fourth, with West Texas A&M going from fourth to fifth. Ashland and Missouri Southern also switched spots from last week’s poll, with Ashland moving up to eighth. Young Harris is the new team in the top 10 this week, moving up two spots from last week’s poll.

Catawba and Westmont both moved up five spots in this week’s rankings, checking in at #14 and #15, respectively. There is only one new team in this week’s top 25, with Saginaw Valley State going from the first team out of last week’s rankings to number 20 this week.

The NCBWA Region polls will be announced every Monday throughout the season, with a new top 25 national poll coming out every Wednesday.
