Ted Gangi has nearly 25 years
of media experience, dating back to age 14. Yes, as a 14-year-old
high school sophomore, he was the voice of Staples High School
football and basketball on WWPT Radio in Westport, Conn.
Since then, he has covered countless major sporting events with
the uncanny ability to be a part of some of
the finest sports and media organizations in the world. As a
scholarship student at SMU, he worked in the Sports Information
Office for what was then the nation's top privately-supported collegiate athletic
program.
From there, he landed at CBS Sports in his native New York, where
he ran the studio research operation, creating materials still in
use today. He also aided the network's programming and PR departments. Next, he was off to Dallas to help launch
"The Ticket," one of the nation's most successful sports talk radio
stations. "College GameDay" on ESPN Radio was his next major
undertaking. He created the show, supervised its launch and produced
its first two seasons. Then it was back to Dallas,
where he was a key component in the launch of CowboysPlus.com, a pay
site developed by DallasNews.com and The Dallas Morning News.
As the president of HiTEX! Enterprises, a pioneering sports media
solutions company, his forethought brought about the creation of
websites and marketing support for sportswriting organizations.
HiTEX! has also produced the College Football E-Guide, a season preview on CD-ROM. He now has the company poised for new
challenges in the ever-changing sports media environment. |
