LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – The Chicago Rush strengthened
its spot atop the Arena Football League Writers Association Top
8 Poll, receiving eight of 13 first-place votes.
Chicago,
which opened with a 61-43 victory over the Iowa Barnstormers, totaled
98 points. That easily beat out the No. 2 Milwaukee Iron, which
received two first-place votes and 66 points.
The Tulsa Talons were No. 3 with 63 points, the Dallas Vigilantes
No. 4 with two first-place votes and 60 points, and the Arizona
Rattlers No. 5 with one first-place vote and 55 points.
No other team received a first-place vote.
Florida teams rounded out the rest of the poll – the Orlando
Predators at No. 6 and the Jacksonville Sharks and Tampa Bay Storm
tied at No. 7.
