LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – For the first time in nine weeks,
the top three of the Schutt Sports Top 12 Poll was unchanged.
And for the first time this season, the top four remained the same.
No.
1 Dallas topped No. 9 Cleveland 68-52, and No. 2 Chicago
defeated Kansas City 52-47, while No. 3 Philadelphia enjoyed its
bye week. For the second straight week, the Desperados were a unanimous
top pick by members of the Arena Football League Writers Association,
collecting all 14 first-place votes. The Soul travels to Dallas
on Saturday night.
Defending champion San Jose held on to the fourth spot with a
10-point win over Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Georgia, which began the season 0-2, climbed into first place
in the Southern Division – the only division in which all of its
teams are in the poll. As a result, the Force moved up one spot
to fifth after defeating No. 11 Tampa Bay 56-55. Division-mate New
Orleans jumped two spots to sixth with an 83-61 win over Columbus.
Arizona also leaped two spots – to eighth – by defeating No.
7 Orlando by a touchdown Saturday night. New York moved from 11th
to 10th with a win over Colorado, which dropped out, on Monday night.
Utah has won four out of six, and entered the poll at No. 12.
