LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – Just another week of dominating the
Arena Football League for Dallas' Will Pettis, although this
time, he made history in earning AFLWA Player of the Week honors
for Week 13.

| Pettis |
Pettis became the first player in league history to throw a touchdown
pass, and score by rushing, receiving and an interception in the
Desperados' 67-41 rout of Orlando last Friday night. Two of his
scores were pivotal, as his passing touchdown tied the game in the
second quarter, and his rushing score in the third quarter gave
Dallas a lead it would not relinquish.
His play helped the Desperados (10-2) reclaim the No. 1 spot
in the Schutt Sports Top 12 poll. They lead the Eastern Division
by a half-game over Philadelphia.
Pettis became the season's first three-time winner of the award,
as voted upon by board members of the AFL Writers Association.
The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national
organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football
League. The association will name an AFL Player of the Week each
week throughout the 2007 season. The AFLWA has presented this weekly
award since its inception during the 2004 season. Mark Anderson
of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and
executive director.
