LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – He had one of the season's best performances
by a wide receiver, and as a result, Georgia's Tiger Jones
was named the Arena Football League Writers Association's Player
of the Week for Week 12.
Jones caught 15 passes for a 224 yards – an AFL season high –
to go along with six touchdowns, as the Force defeated New York
72-67 on Sunday afternoon. His biggest play of the game came with
nine seconds left, as his 28-yard scoring reception put Georgia
ahead to stay.
His other touchdown catches came from 4 yards (twice), 8, 15
and 42. Jones' quarterback, Chris Greisen had a phenomenal day as
well, completing 32 of 39 passes for 403 yards and nine touchdowns.
It was the first time this season someone from Georgia has won
the award, as voted on by the board members of the AFLWA.
