LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – Danny Wimprine is one of the most
surprising stories of the season, and the New Orleans VooDoo quarterback
turned in another strong performance to become the Arena
Football League Writers Association Player of the Week.

He completed 22 of 33 passes for 265 yards and nine touchdowns
to lead the 7-2 VooDoo to a 70-56 victory over the Utah Blaze. The
VooDoo scored on 10 of its 11 possessions.
This is Wimprine's second AFLWA Player of the Week honor. He
also won the award in Week 2.
Wimprine is second among quarterbacks with at least 200 attempts
with a 122.8 rating. He has completed 63.5 percent of his passes
for 2,172 yards with 48 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national
organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football
League. The association will name an AFL Player of the Week each
week throughout the 2007 season. The AFLWA has presented this weekly
award since its inception during the 2004 season. Mark Anderson

executive director.
