15-1 Desperados head into post-season as the team to beat
DALLAS TOPS SCHUTT SPORTS AFL TOP 12 POLL

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – The Dallas Desperados, who have been No. 1 for all but a four-week stretch, take the top ranking in the final Schutt Sports Top 12 Poll into the playoffs.

Schutt SportsDallas (15-1) received 17 first-place votes and 237 points by members of the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA). The No. 2 Georgia Force (14-2) were given the other three first-place votes and totaled 221 points.

The top five spots remained the same with the San Jose SaberCats (13-3) at No. 3, Chicago Rush (12-4) at No. 4 and Kansas City Brigade (10-6) at No. 5.

Dallas defeated the Colorado Crush 77-58, Georgia beat the New Orleans VooDoo 68-42, San Jose downed the Las Vegas Gladiators 73-46, and Chicago bested Kansas City 48-21.

The No. 6 Tampa Bay Storm (9-7) and No. 7 Los Angeles Avengers (9-7) traded places. Tampa Bay beat the Austin Wranglers 55-51, and Los Angeles lost to the Utah Blaze 47-37.

The Philadelphia Soul (8-8) gained three spots to No. 8 thanks to a 63-49 victory over the Orlando Predators.

Utah (8-8) moved up a slot to No. 9, Orlando (8-8) slid two spots to No. 10, and Colorado (8-8) fell two places to No. 11.

The Columbus Destroyers (7-9) remained No. 12 after defeating the New York Dragons 74-43.

In this week’s playoffs, Dallas, Georgia, San Jose and Chicago have byes. Kansas City hosts Colorado, Tampa Bay is at home against Columbus, Los Angeles hosts Utah, and Philadelphia welcomes Orlando.
