Desperados, Force still set the pace atop AFLWA rankings
DALLAS TOPS SCHUTT SPORTS AFL TOP 12 POLL

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – The Dallas Desperados easily maintained their place at the top of the Schutt Sports Top 12 Poll, receiving 19 of 21 first-place votes from members of the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA).

Schutt SportsDallas (11-1) totaled 250 points, beating out the No. 2 Georgia Force (10-2), which received the other two first-place and 226 points.

The Desperados, who defeated the Columbus Destroyers 56-47, play at the No. 8 Philadelphia Soul (6-6). Philadelphia moved ahead three spots following a 76-66 victory over the Austin Wranglers.

Georgia, which also was No. 2 last week, downed the Tampa Bay Storm 52-38. The Force hosts No. 10 Columbus (6-6), which fell two places.

The Chicago Rush and San Jose SaberCats, each 9-3, tied for No. 3. Chicago moved up a spot thanks to a 53-47 victory over the Arizona Ratters, and San Jose held its ground after beating the Nashville Kats 48-34.

Chicago is at the No. 9 Los Angeles Avengers (6-6), who dropped two slots after a 62-56 loss to the Kansas City Brigade. San Jose is home against the No. 7 Orlando Predators (7-5), who moved down a spot following a 65-62 defeat to the Utah Blaze.

The Colorado Crush (8-5) stayed at No. 5 despite a 58-56 loss to the Grand Rapids Rampage. Colorado is at No. 12 Utah (6-7), which entered the poll.

Kansas City (7-5), which advanced three spots to No. 6, travels to Grand Rapids (4-8).

The New York Dragons (5-7) entered the rankings at No. 11 because of a 69-63 victory over the New Orleans VooDoo. New York is home against Austin (3-9).
