The Gladiators defeated Grand Rapids 79-69 at Van Andel Arena
in Grand Rapids. Prentiss edged teammate Shaun King, who threw 10
touchdown passes on the night.
Prentiss, who had 13 receptions for 235 yards, opened the scoring
with a 41-yard touchdown reception from King. The Rampage then took
the lead with two consecutive touchdowns in the first quarter, and
they did not relinquish it until Prentiss caught his seventh scoring
pass, which tied the score at 55 early in the fourth quarter.
Prentiss, 5-feet-8, 155 pounds from Mississippi State, broke
the record for most touchdown receptions in a game four minutes
later with No. 8, and he added one more with 1:35 remaining to put
the Gladiators up by 10.
