LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – After completing 25 of 30 passes for
337 yards and nine touchdowns in his debut for the Georgia Force,
quarterback Chris Greisen was named the Arena Football
League Writers Association's Player of the Week for Week 1.

Greisen spent his first two seasons as a backup to Clint Dolezel
in Dallas, where he attempted just 16 passes. He threw three times
as many scoring passes in the Force's 69-65 road win over the Arizona
Rattlers last Saturday night than he previously had in his entire
two-year career.
Five of Greisen's touchdown passes came in the first half, as
the Force built a 41-24 lead. Arizona cut the lead to 55-45 in the
fourth quarter, before Greisen, who outdueled 14-year veteran Sherdrick
Bonner, threw 33 yards to Troy Bergeron to up the advantage to 17
points. Bergeron, the 2005 Rookie of the Year, was Greisen's primary
target, catching nine passes for 138 yards and six touchdowns.
Chris Jackson and Derek Lee combined for 15 receptions for 192
yards and three touchdowns.
