LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – The Dallas Desperados have been so
dominant this season that even a loss couldn't damage their standing in
the Schutt Sports Top 12 Poll.
Despite
a 51-48 loss to the Philadelphia Soul, Dallas (12-3) received all 20
first-place votes in balloting by members of the Arena Football League
Writers Association (AFLWA). The Desperados finish the regular season at
home against the No. 4 New York Dragons (10-5). New York remained in the
same place after downing the Georgia Force 47-35.
The Orlando Predators (10-5) moved up a spot to No. 2 thanks to a
63-42 victory over the Kansas City Brigade. Orlando hosts the No. 6
Austin Wranglers (9-6). Austin advanced one notch following a 57-38
victory over Grand Rapids Rampage.
Dropping one spot to No. 3 was the Colorado Crush (10-5), which lost
to the San Jose SaberCats 61-56. Colorado is at home against the No. 7
Arizona Rattlers, who gained two places after blasting the Las Vegas
Gladiators 75-28.
San Jose (9-6), which remained No. 5, hosts the No. 9 Columbus
Destroyers (8-7). Columbus fell a spot despite defeating the Tampa Bay
Storm 51-48.
Georgia (8-7), which dropped two places to No. 8, is home against
Philadelphia (8-7), which moved up two slots to No. 10.
The Nashville Kats (7-8) remained No. 11 after losing to the Los
Angeles Avengers 73-56. Nashville hosts No. 12 Tampa Bay (7-8), which
dropped two places.
