LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – With movement up and down the Schutt
Sports Top 12 Poll, the Dallas Desperados stood out and were
the unanimous choice for No. 1.
Dallas
(7-1) received all 19 first-place votes from members of the Arena
Football League Writers Association (AFLWA), totaling 228 points.
The Desperados, who defeated the Orlando Predators 87-62 to move up a
spot, host the No. 11 Philadelphia Soul (4-4). Philadelphia fell two
places after losing 53-20 to the Columbus Destroyers.
Only a point separated the No. 2 Austin Wranglers and the No. 3
Colorado Crush, each 6-2. Austin totaled 200 points to move up a spot
following their 64-37 victory over the Kansas City Brigade, and Colorado
received 199 points to drop two notches after a 60-57 defeat to the Los
Angeles Avengers.
Austin hosts No. 9 Orlando (4-4), which fell from a tie for seventh.
Colorado is at home against No. 8 Columbus (4-4), one of three teams to
enter the poll.
The Tampa Bay Storm (5-3) advanced a space to No. 4 thanks to a 60-44
victory over the New York Dragons. Tampa Bay visits the No. 6 Georgia
Force (4-4). Georgia fell two spots after a 56-55 loss to the San Jose
SaberCats.
Moving up two places No. 5 were the Nashville Kats (5-3), who edged
the Chicago Rush 48-47. Nashville hosts San Jose (3-5).
The Arizona Rattlers (4-4) entered the rankings at No. 7 after
dispatching the Las Vegas Gladiators 47-33. Arizona is home against No.
12 Los Angeles (3-5), which also moved into the poll.
New York (4-4), which dropped four places to No. 10, hosts Kansas
City (1-7).
