Quarterback throws 8 TD passes to notch 100th career win
ARIZONA'S BONNER IS
AFLWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – Getting his 100th career victory in style by throwing eight touchdown passes, Arizona Rattlers quarterback Sherdrick Bonner is the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA) Player of the Week.

He completed 25 of 49 passes for 345 yards in the Rattlers' 64-52 victory over the Utah Blaze. The victory kept Arizona in first place in the Western Division.

Underscoring his reputation as a winner, Bonner became the first AFL quarterback to record triple-digit victories.

Making the win even more special was that it came against some familiar faces. Utah coach Danny White led Arizona to five ArenaBowl appearances and two titles, and offensive coordinator Hunkie Cooper starred for those Rattlers teams. Both coaches took some Rattlers when them to the expansion club.

"It's hard to play Utah," Bonner told The Arizona Republic. "We know a lot of those guys, and they know what we do. It was like playing yourself."

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director.
