GRAND RAPIDS' MARSHALL IS
AFLWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – Grand Rapids Rampage wide receiver/defensive back Timon Marshall totaled 262 all-purpose yards in a victory over the San Jose SaberCats, and is the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA) Player of the Week.

He averaged 21.8 yards on 12 touches in the Rampage's 66-52 win. Marshall returned six kickoffs for 181 yards with a touchdown, and caught four passes for 81 yards with two TDs. Marshall also made 4 1/2 tackles.

His 58-yard kickoff return for a score gave the Rampage a 29-26 halftime lead.

"Our guys take pride in special teams play," Marshall told the Grand Rapids Press. "They were blocking everyone because I was untouched. I didn't see anyone but the kicker."

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director.
