AFLWA PLAYERS' POLL: WEEK 1

The Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA) will conduct a poll asking players around the league their opinions on various topics. This week, we asked them who they thought would win the ArenaBowl, and whether it was a good idea to have the game at a neutral site.

Except for your team, who will win the ArenaBowl?
San Jose SaberCats 42.5%
Arizona Rattlers 17.5%
Orlando Predators 10.0%
New Orleans VooDoo 7.5%
Philadelphia Soul 5.0%
Tampa Bay Storm 5.0%
Five other teams 2.5%
Do you like the idea of a neutral site for the ArenaBowl?
Yes 79.2%
No 20.8%

• There was general agreement among the players regarding where the ArenaBowl should be played and what team will win it, according to a poll conducted by the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA).

An overwhelming 79.2 percent said they liked the idea of the game being played at a neutral site, which it will be the first time this year. The ArenaBowl, which is in its 19th year, will be in Las Vegas.

• Players also believed strongly that the San Jose SaberCats would repeat as champions, claiming their third title in four years. No other team was close to the 42.5 percent of the votes the SaberCats received.

Only two other teams received at least 10 percent – 17.5 percent said the Arizona Rattlers would win the championship, and 10 percent predicted the Orlando Predators.

However, players were not allowed to vote for their own team.
