LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – After a resounding 61-46 victory over
the top-ranked Tampa Bay Storm, the Orlando Predators moved
into the top spot in the latest Top 8 Poll, which was conducted
by the Arena Football League Writers Association.
Orlando (3-0), the league's only undefeated team, received all
but one of the 14 first-place votes, totaling 103 points. The Predators
next visit the Dallas Desperados (2-1), who are eighth. Dallas edged
the Columbus Destroyers 35-31 to move into the rankings.
The Chicago Rush (2-1) advanced two spots to No. 2 following
its 51-48 victory over Colorado, which dropped the Crush (1-2) out
of the poll. Chicago is at Columbus (0-2).
Tampa Bay (2-1) dropped two spots to No. 3. The Storm is idle.
Moving up three spaces to No. 4 were the Philadelphia Soul (2-1),
which was a 59-48 winner over the Nashville Kats. Philadelphia is
at the No. 5 New Orleans VooDoo (2-1), which topped the San Jose
SaberCats 62-61. New Orleans moved up three places, and San Jose
(1-2) dropped out of the rankings from No. 3.
A 61-47 victory over the Arizona Rattlers moved the Georgia Force
(2-1) into the poll at No. 6. Georgia, which received the other
first-place vote, plays at the No. 7 Las Vegas Gladiators (2-1),
which also entered the rankings. Las Vegas defeated New York 41-37,
dropping the Dragons (1-1) out of the poll from No. 6.
