Quarterback leads upset of Chicago with 8 TD passes
ARIZONA'S BONNER IS
AFLWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – One of the AFL's top all-time quarterbacks, the Arizona Rattlers' Sherdrick Bonner delivered one of the league's finest performances this season and is the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA) Player of the Week.

Bonner completed 22 of 25 passes for 240 yards with eight touchdowns to lead the Rattlers to a 61-43 upset of the Chicago Rush. He also rushed for a touchdown.

"Sherdrick is probably the best quarterback to come through this league," Rattlers wide receiver/defensive back Randy Gatewood told the Arizona Republic. "He's the motor that keeps us going. When that guy goes, we go."

Bonner, who is in his 13th season, has won two ArenaBowl titles, and helped put the Rattlers in the championship game the past three seasons. His performance against Chicago might be more impressive considering Arizona (5-9) will not make the playoffs, and the Rush (8-6) is competing for a postseason spot.

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director. The association's website is www.aflwa.com.
