Offensive specialist grabs 10 passes for 166 yards, 4 scores
LOS ANGELES' LOCKE IS
AFLWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – He didn't catch the winning pass, but without offensive specialist Tony Locke's contributions, the Los Angeles Avengers would not have beaten the Arizona Rattlers. For that, Locke is the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA) Player of the Week.

He caught 10 passes for 166 yards with four touchdowns to lead the Avengers to a 59-56 victory. The victory put Los Angeles (8-5) into a four-way tie in the American Conference for the four playoff spots and in a tie with the San Jose SaberCats for first place in the Western Division.

Locke's performance put the Avengers in position to beat Arizona late. Quarterback John Kaleo's 16-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Kevin Ingram with 4 seconds left was the game-winner.

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director. The association's website is www.aflwa.com.
