Storm quarterback throws for seven scores to earn honor again
TAMPA BAY'S STAFFORD IS
AFLWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – Maybe what happened Saturday was a sign.

Tampa Bay quarterback Shane Stafford tossed in a court-long shot with a football at halftime of a Harlem Globetrotters game to win the fans in attendance free tickets to Sunday's Storm-Grand Rapids Rampage game.

Then Stafford went out and threw seven touchdown passes and ran for another one to lead the Storm to a 70-50 and earn the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA) Player of the Week. He completed 24 of 33 passes for 298 yards to become this season's first two-time winner.

Stafford made the most having receivers Freddie Solomon and T.T. Toliver back in the lineup after they were sidelined with injuries. Their returns helped the Storm win after suffering back-to-back losses.

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director. The association's website is www.aflwa.com.
