Desperados quarterback throw for eight scores
DALLAS' STOERNER IS
AFLWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – The Dallas Desperados didn't just win in a tough environment at Philadelphia. Led by quarterback Clint Stoerner, they dominated the Soul, 72-43.

Stoerner completed 15 of 23 passes for 242 yards with eight touchdowns, and was named the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA) Player of the Week.

His play is a major reason the Desperados are off to a 4-1 start. They have established themselves as one of the league's top contenders, beating a Soul team that dropped to 2-3. Dallas outscored Philadelphia 34-8 in the second half.

Stoerner attributed his success against the Soul to his line play, which kept him upright most of the game.

"Our guys up front played awesome," he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I was untouched all day long."

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director. The association's website is www.aflwa.com.
