QB throws for eight scores in losing effort
GRAND RAPIDS' BISHOP IS
AFLWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – Grand Rapids Rampage quarterback Michael Bishop was so good that even a losing effort couldn't deny him the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA) Player of the Week.

Bishop completed 20 of 32 passes for 337 yards with eight touchdowns and one interception in the 73-61 loss to the Austin Wranglers.

He also rushed for 75 yards on seven carries, once again showing what he can do on the ground. Bishop is the only AFL player to ever have rushed for 100 yards in a game, and leads the league with 175 yards rushing.

Though the Rampage lost, Bishop helped Grand Rapids outgain Austin with a team-record 420 yards to 298. Bishop's 412 yards of total offense set a club record.

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director. The association's website is www.aflwa.com.
