Storm QB continues solid second half of season
TAMPA BAY'S STAFFORD NAMED
AFLWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – After a rough start, quarterback Shane Stafford has the Tampa Bay Storm in playoff contention, especially after his most recent performance that earned him Player of the Week, as determined by the board of the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA).

Stafford completed 22 of 30 passes for 267 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions in the Storm's 59-51 victory over the New Orleans VooDoo.

That was Tampa Bay's fifth consecutive victory, putting the defending champion in position for a possible playoff berth at 8-7. Stafford has helped engineer the turnaround, after he was blamed for the start and was named the AFLWA's most disappointing player of the mid-year.

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director.
