LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – Sherdrick Bonner threw seven
touchdown passes and rushed for another to lead the Arizona Rattlers
over the San Jose SaberCats, and he was named the Player of the
Week by the board of the Arena Football League Writers Association
(AFLWA).
Bonner completed 20 of 31 passes for 238 yards and did not throw
an interception. With the Rattlers down 21-10, he ran for a 1-yard
touchdown and completed a 9-yard scoring pass to Orshawante Bryant
in the final 1:43 to put Arizona up 24-21 at halftime.
Behind Bonner, the Rattlers (9-5) used a 35-0 run to knock off
top-ranked San Jose (10-3).
This is the second time in four weeks Bonner has claimed this
honor. The only other player to repeat is New York Dragons quarterback
Aaron Garcia.
The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national
