LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – Thabiti Davis not only put
up big numbers for the Detroit Fury, but he made plays in the most
important times to become the Player of the Week, as voted on by
the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA).
Davis, a wide receiver/linebacker, caught 12 passes for 166 yards
with five touchdowns in the Fury's 72-71 victory over the Chicago
Rush. Each touchdown either tied the game or gave Detroit the lead.
His play was instrumental in the upset, which improved Detroit to
3-4 and dropped Chicago to 5-2.
For the season, Davis has 47 receptions for 662 yards with 11
touchdowns, topping the Fury in each category.
The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national
