LAS VEGAS' NASH IS
AFLWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

LAS VEGAS (AFLWA) – Las Vegas Gladiators offensive specialist Marcus Nash's career performance earned him the Player of the Week, which was voted on by the board of the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA).

Nash caught 16 passes for 192 yards with four touchdowns in the Gladiators' 65-64 overtime victory over the Arizona Rattlers on Sunday.

His previous best performance was Feb. 29 against the New Orleans VooDoo when Nash caught 12 passes for 109 yards with one touchdown. He also broke Las Vegas records, set by Mike Horacek who had 15 receptions and 182 yards in separate games last season.

Nash was a two-player, but became the offensive specialist when Terrill Shaw injured his buttocks against New Orleans. Shaw is on injured reserve and might be out another month.

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director.
